Mount Jabalcon is 1.494m above sea level, if you like to hike or mountain bike then this is a place to visit, it has a viewing point at the top and a church, you can also do paragliding from here.
Freila Playa (beach) is only a 10 minute drive where you can rent out Pedlows to go exploring the Embalse de Negratin or swimming

Zujar is a warm, friendly Spanish village of just under 3000 people, with around 40 British residents. It offers lots of amenities, including two banks, 2 bakeries, 5 mini markets, a post office, a medical centre, a pharmacy, a broad array of local shops, 15 bars restaurants, a beautiful Spa, an outdoor thermal pool, a modern gym and a public outdoor pool (open June to September). Zujar also has an infant, junior and secondary school, plus a weekly market held on Saturday mornings in Plaza Mayor. The Town Hall also organises lots of cultural and sporting events for residents, such as fiestas, live music dance shows, free outdoor cinema and Zumba classes, star gazing sessions and guided local walks, to name just a few. There are also free Spanish classes available in both Baza Freila, only 10-15 minutes away. Several local neighbours attend, and it is a great way of meeting new people. Zujar is also very close to Lake Negratin, which is less than 10 minutes away. Freila beach is a wonderful place to relax, and the all year bar restaurant there serves great tapas food. The Club Nautico (down on the lake by the pantano) offer kayaks, pedalos, and paddle boards for hire, plus you can have lessons too. A great way to get fit, have fun, and make the most of the beautiful scenery! Fishing is another popular hobby
