In the historic centre of Vélez Blanco, a serene village, full of history and sunshine, you will find this old house to renovate, full of history and love, where some of the families who still live in the area grew up.
Almost at the end of a street we find this house with a yellow façade. We can´t imagine how big it is inside from the outside.
Once we enter, we are surprised by its thick walls and the brightness of its walls, all white. To the left, a large double bedroom facing the street from where we entered. They explain to us that this room would be ideal to transform it into a garage. To the right, a living room full of family photos and memories with lots of light. This gives access to a quiet double bedroom with a window overlooking the courtyard. All the rooms are full of antique elements, which remind us of what the area used to be like in the past.
We go back to the hall and we see that an incredible light comes in from the back. A large living room, with access to the courtyard, allows us to see what was the centre of all their meetings, with an old table where to put the brazier, a water jug to always have fresh water and, of course, the photos of the family ancestors that flood the wall.
Once in the courtyard, we find on the left a bathroom with a shower, and on the right, an old kitchen with a wood oven where bread was baked daily and the women commented on the day. It is a courtyard full of charm and sunshine, as the wall at the back is part of the rock of the mountain, and, in its shelter, there is what used to be a henhouse and extra space for more animals. Going up some metal stairs we find two bifurcations that lead to two extraordinary terraces where you can sunbathe and read a good book. Here we find the privacy that the mountain gives you and the silence that only in villages of this style you can enjoy.
Back in the living room, the stairs that go up take us back to another era. To the left, an attic room reminds us of the time when grain was once stored in this place. Two beautiful and spacious bedrooms let our imagination run wild with all the possibilities they offer.
Up here you realise that it is worth living in a village like Vélez Blanco. It offers you all the necessary services, as well as the possibility to build a big house in your own way for a very low cost.
